WhatIf Terms of Service
Last updated: October 31, 2026 · Version 2026-10-31
The short version
This box helps you find the important parts. It is a summary only. The full Terms below are what count.
- WhatIf is a family vault sold by Synergy Services, LLC. It is not a will, and it is not legal, tax or financial advice.
- Your items and documents are encrypted on your device. We don't have the keys, so we can't read them. If you lose every way to unlock your vault, nobody, including us, can get it back (Section 4).
- Vault owners must be 18 or older. People an owner adds can be 13 to 17 only with a parent's or guardian's permission. Nobody under 13 may use WhatIf (Section 2).
- $99 a year per vault after a 30-day free trial. Your plan renews automatically every year until you cancel. Cancel any time in Settings > Cancel or change plan, or by email. We email you about 7 days before a trial ends and about 30 days before each yearly renewal (Section 8).
- You get a full refund if you ask within 14 days after any yearly charge (Section 8.8).
- If payments stop, your vault is read-only for 6 months, then locked. We don't delete it automatically (Section 8.11).
- Anyone who has a release letter and can sign in as the person it was made for can open the sealed items once any waiting period ends. Keep letters as safe as house keys (Section 5).
- You can close your account at any time in Settings (Section 12).
- If you live in the United States, disputes go to individual arbitration, not class actions, unless you opt out within 30 days (Section 18). Our liability is limited, with exceptions (Section 16).

1. Who we are and how these Terms work
1.1 Who we are
WhatIf is an easynow.life product. It is sold and run by Synergy Services, LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("Synergy Services", "we", "us", "our"). Our mailing address is 1623 Central Avenue, Suite 18, Cheyenne, WY 82001, USA. WhatIf was previously called InCase.
Email us at whatif@easynow.life. Card statements for WhatIf charges show SYNERGY SVCS WHATIF.
1.2 What these Terms cover
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Synergy Services. They cover the WhatIf website at whatif.easynow.life, the WhatIf web app (including when you install it on your device), our emails, and related services (together, the "Service").
1.3 How you accept these Terms
- Before you use WhatIf, you tick a box to say that you agree to these Terms and have read our Privacy Policy. The first time you use WhatIf, we ask your age and you tick “I agree to the Terms of Service and have read the Privacy Policy.” When you create a vault or start or reactivate a plan, you tick “I’m 18 or older and agree to the Terms of Service and have read the Privacy Policy.”
- When you start a paid plan, or pay to reactivate a vault, you also tick a separate box to agree to the automatic yearly renewal described in Section 8: “I agree my plan renews automatically every year at the price shown until I cancel, and I can cancel anytime in Settings.”
- When we publish a new version of these Terms, we ask you to tick the box again before you continue using WhatIf (see Section 20.1).
- We log each acceptance: who accepted, which version, what was agreed to, and when. We keep this log as described in our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use WhatIf.
1.4 Our Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. It is a notice to you. It is not part of this contract, except where these Terms expressly refer to it.
1.5 Personal and family use
WhatIf is for personal and family use. If you use it to help someone else (for example, a family member helping a parent), you confirm that you have their permission. You may not run vaults for clients as a business service without our written permission.
2. Who can use WhatIf, and your account
2.1 Age
- Vault owners (the person who creates and pays for a vault), anyone who pays for a plan, and Partners must be 18 or older and able to make a binding contract where they live.
- People an owner adds may be 13 to 17 only if the owner is their parent or legal guardian, or has their parent's or guardian's permission. The owner confirms this when adding them. The parent or guardian who gave permission is responsible for the young person's use of WhatIf.
- Nobody under 13 may use WhatIf. Do not add a child under 13 as a person in your vault, and do not let them sign in. You may store information about a younger child inside your own encrypted items. If we learn that a child under 13 has signed in or been added, we will remove their sign-in and their entry and tell the vault owner.
- Section 18.2 (arbitration) does not apply to claims a person brings about their own use of WhatIf while they were under 18. The limits in Section 16 apply to those claims only as far as the law allows for minors.
2.2 Other eligibility rules
You may not use WhatIf if we have previously ended your account for breaking these Terms, or if U.S. law or the law where you live bars you from receiving the Service. This includes being located in a country under a comprehensive U.S. embargo, or being on a U.S. government list of restricted parties.
2.3 Your account and sign-in
- You sign in with a single-use link we email to you. That means whoever controls your email inbox can sign in as you. Keep your email account secure (a strong password and two-step verification). Unlocking your vault also needs your passkey, passphrase or recovery code, and some sensitive actions need that unlock too.
- Use an email address you control and keep it current. If you lose access to it, you may lose access to WhatIf.
- You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your devices, passkeys, passphrase, recovery code and any printed letters safe. Tell us promptly at whatif@easynow.life if you think someone else has used your account.
- Do not share your account. Each person you add gets their own sign-in.
3. What WhatIf is, and what it is not
3.1 What WhatIf is
WhatIf is an encrypted family vault. You can record and store important information, such as accounts, insurance policies, documents, logins and passwords, two-step verification setup keys, crypto wallet details, contacts and instructions. You decide who in your family or circle can see each item, and when.
Current limits per vault: up to 2,000 items, up to 50 people, up to 2 GB of documents in total, up to 4 MB per document, and up to 20 documents per item. We may change these limits under Section 11.2.
3.2 What WhatIf is not
- Not a will, trust, power of attorney or other legal document. Storing something in WhatIf, or giving someone access to it, does not transfer ownership of anything, appoint anyone to act for you, or have any legal effect on your estate. Laws on wills, estates and digital assets vary. Talk to a lawyer.
- Not legal, tax, financial, investment, insurance or medical advice. Checklists, "how to claim" steps and suggestions in WhatIf are general information only.
- We do not verify death, incapacity or identity. WhatIf does not check whether you are alive, well or reachable. It does not notify anyone automatically when you die or become incapacitated. It does not confirm who a person really is, beyond their control of an email address and, for sealed items, their possession of a release letter.
- No guarantee anyone will find or open anything. Whether your family can get to your information depends on your choices (who you add, what you share, where you leave release letters) and on things outside our control (their email accounts and devices, whether your plan is paid, whether the Service is still running).
- Not a replacement for a daily password manager. WhatIf does not autofill passwords. It should not be the only place you keep critical information.
- Not a backup of your accounts or assets. Information in WhatIf can go out of date. Keeping it accurate is up to you. Expiry reminders and the yearly check-up are aids, not guarantees.
- Not an emergency service. Do not rely on WhatIf for urgent needs.
You decide. The vault owner decides what to store, who to add, what each person can see, whether to make release letters, who holds them, and any waiting period. We do not make, review or override those choices.
4. Encryption: what it means for you
WhatIf is designed so that your items, your documents (including their file names) and your video link are encrypted on your device before they are sent to us. We never receive the keys. In plain terms:
- We can't read your encrypted vault contents, because we don't have the keys.
- We can't reset your passkey, passphrase or recovery code, and we can't recover your data for you.
- If you lose all of your unlock methods (every passkey, your passphrase and your recovery code), your vault contents are permanently lost. This is a deliberate part of the design, not a fault. We are not responsible for that loss, unless it was caused by our own breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care.
- Keep your recovery code safe and secret, and keep at least one working unlock method. We recommend printing your recovery code, storing it somewhere secure, and keeping your own export or printed emergency packet (Section 12.1).
- WhatIf runs in your browser, using code we send each time you open it. Your protection depends on that code being genuine and on your device being secure. If someone broke into our servers, or into the way we deliver our code, they could in principle send altered code that tries to capture what you unlock. We take steps to prevent this, such as two-step sign-in on the accounts that control our code and hosting, and a strict security policy that blocks scripts from other sites. If it happens, we will tell you as the law requires (Section 11.6).
- While your vault is unlocked, your browser holds your decrypted data. Anyone who can use your unlocked device, or a device you chose to "remember", may be able to see your vault. Malware or someone watching your screen can defeat encryption. Keeping your devices secure is your responsibility.
- Some information is readable to us, because the Service needs it to work. This includes: email addresses of owners and the people they add; the vault's name; the names, relationships and access settings of people added; who each item is shared with; each item's category, type, status, dates and any expiry date; whether an item is hidden; counts and sizes; release-letter request, open and stop times and waiting periods; sign-in records (email, IP address and browser, kept 90 days); billing status; Partner details; the log of Terms acceptances; and emails you send us. Our Privacy Policy lists these in detail.
- On your own device, the app's offline copy includes some readable information (names, email addresses and relationships of people, and item categories). Vault contents in it stay encrypted. The offline copy is cleared when you sign out or close your account.
- Some things are not stored by WhatIf at all. For example, a welcome video lives on YouTube. Only its link is encrypted in WhatIf (Section 10).
5. People you add, sharing, and release letters
5.1 People you add
You can add people to your vault ("members") and choose, for each item, whether it is just for you, for everyone, or for chosen people. For each person you choose an access setting:
- Now: they can see what you share with them whenever they sign in.
- Just in case: items you share with them stay sealed until they use a release letter.
- Just in case, silent: we don't tell them the vault exists. Items stay sealed until they use a release letter.
When you add someone, you confirm that you may give us their name and email address and have us email them (unless you choose silent), and, if they are 13 to 17, that you have the permission described in Section 2.1. Members use WhatIf free of charge and must accept these Terms before using it. Members do not own the vault, cannot change what the owner stores, and don't see who else is in it.
5.2 Leaving a vault
A member can leave a vault at any time in Settings > Leave this vault. They stop seeing what was shared with them there, and any release letter left for them stops working. If they pay for that vault's plan, that plan is cancelled. Only the owner can add them back. An owner can also remove a person at any time.
5.3 Release letters work like keys
For each "just in case" person, WhatIf generates a release password. You print it in a release letter and leave it with someone you choose, such as an attorney, with your will, or with a trusted friend. WhatIf does not keep a copy of the release password.
Here is how a release works:
- Asking. The person signs in with the email address you entered for them and asks to open the sealed items. Asking needs their own sign-in. It does not need the letter.
- We email you. We email you, the owner, as soon as someone asks, before anything starts. If we can't send that email, nothing starts.
- Waiting period. If you set a waiting period (1, 3, 7 or 14 days), you can tap Stop at any time during it. If you set no waiting period, the items can be opened straight away.
- Opening. After any waiting period, opening the sealed items needs the release password from the letter.
- Anyone who has a release letter and can sign in as the person it was made for can open the sealed items once any waiting period ends. We can't tell whether that is the person you intended, or whether the event you had in mind (such as your death) has happened.
- Treat a release letter like a key to your house. Store it securely and choose carefully who holds it.
- If you don't see or act on our email (for example because you are unwell, travelling or no longer check that inbox), the items can be opened when the waiting period ends. We only email you. We don't try to reach you any other way.
- Once someone has opened sealed items, they may copy, print or save them. We can't take that back.
- A release letter stops working if: your vault locks for non-payment (until someone reactivates it, Section 8.11); you reissue that person's letter (the old one stops working and you must give out the new one); the person leaves the vault, is removed, or closes their account; or you close your account. During the 6-month read-only period, letters still work. You can still stop a pending release while your vault is locked.
5.4 What we are not responsible for
We are not responsible for how the people you add, or anyone holding a release letter, use what they can see, or for disputes between them, unless the harm was caused by our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care. If you're unsure how to set things up, talk to a lawyer.
6. Your content
6.1 You own your content
"Your content" means everything you or the people in your vault store in WhatIf, encrypted or readable. You keep all rights in it. We claim no ownership of it.
6.2 The limited permission you give us
You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, store, copy, send, back up and display your content (mostly in encrypted form we can't read), and to process the readable information described in Section 4, only as needed to provide, secure and support the Service, and to comply with law. Our service providers may do the same on our behalf. This permission ends when your content is deleted from our systems, including backups (Section 12.3). We do not sell your content, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
6.3 Information about other people
Your vault will usually include information about other people, such as family members or joint account holders. You promise that:
- you have the right to store and share that information, and doing so does not break any law, contract or duty of confidentiality you owe (for example an employer's rules or a professional duty);
- you will not store another person's passwords, account access or private information without their permission or another legal right; and
- you will not use WhatIf to monitor, track or control anyone without their knowledge.
Storing a password or two-step code does not give anyone legal permission to use the account. Some online services forbid sharing logins, and using another person's account (including a deceased person's) may break the law or that service's terms. Check before you act.
6.4 You are responsible for your content
Because we can't see your content, we don't check it. We are not responsible for its accuracy, legality or completeness.
7. Acceptable use
You must not, and must not help anyone else to:
- break any law, store or share illegal content (including child sexual abuse material), or commit fraud;
- store or share information about other people without the right to do so (Section 6.3);
- upload malware or other harmful code;
- harass, threaten, stalk or abuse anyone, including through invitations or release letters;
- access, or try to access, another person's account or vault without permission, or use a release letter or email account you are not entitled to use;
- probe, scan or test the Service for weaknesses, get around any security or access control, or interfere with or overload the Service, except as allowed in the security research paragraph below;
- reverse engineer, decompile or copy the Service to attack it, to get around its security or billing, or to build a competing product, except where the law allows this despite this rule;
- use bots or scrapers to access the Service, other than ordinary browser features;
- resell or sublicense the Service, or use it to provide a commercial service to others, without our written permission;
- abuse free trials, refunds, referrals or discounts, for example by creating extra accounts or using someone else's discount; or
- impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your connection with WhatIf or Synergy Services.
Good-faith security research is welcome. If you think you've found a security problem, email whatif@easynow.life. We will not take legal action against you for research that: only uses accounts you own or have permission to test; does not access, change or keep other people's data; does not disrupt the Service (no denial-of-service or spam testing); and gives us a reasonable time to fix the problem (at least 90 days, or until it is fixed if sooner) before you disclose it publicly. This does not authorize testing of our service providers' systems, and we can't waive the rights of others.
8. Subscriptions, free trial, automatic renewal, and payment
Automatic renewal: the key terms
- Price: $99 (U.S. dollars) per year, per vault. Any discount you get, and the exact amount you will be charged, are shown before you pay.
- Free trial: 30 days. A card is required to start it. One trial per person. You are not charged during the trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, we charge your card the yearly price when the trial ends.
- Automatic renewal: Your plan renews automatically every year. We charge your card on file the yearly price on each renewal date until you cancel.
- Reminders: we email you about 7 days before your trial ends, and about 30 days (never fewer than 15 days) before each yearly renewal. The renewal reminder states the actual amount we will charge.
- How to cancel: any time, online in Settings > Cancel or change plan, or by emailing whatif@easynow.life. Online cancellation takes effect at the end of your current trial or paid period, and you are not charged again. Email cancellation takes effect when we receive your email. We confirm every cancellation by email.
- Refunds: full refund if you ask within 14 days after any yearly charge.
- Price changes: we email you at least 30 days before the renewal at which a new price would apply, and you can cancel.
- Seller: Synergy Services, LLC, whatif@easynow.life. Card statements show SYNERGY SVCS WHATIF.
8.1 Who pays
Each vault needs an active plan. The owner pays for it. People the owner adds are never charged. A member may choose to pay to reactivate a vault whose plan has ended (Section 8.11). Some accounts are free (Section 9.4).
8.2 Free trial
A new owner gets a 30-day free trial. You must enter a payment card to start it. Only one free trial is available per person. Reactivating a vault does not include a trial. When the trial ends, your plan becomes a paid yearly plan and your card is charged automatically, unless you cancel before the trial ends. About 7 days before your trial ends, we email you the date and amount of the charge and how to cancel. We may change or stop offering trials for new sign-ups.
8.3 Automatic renewal and your consent
When you start a plan, you tick a separate box to agree to the automatic renewal. By doing so, you authorize us, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge your payment method: the price shown at checkout when your trial ends (or straight away, if there is no trial); and then the yearly price on each renewal date, until you cancel. Each renewal is for one year. You can see your renewal date in Settings. About 30 days (and never fewer than 15 days) before each yearly renewal, we email you the renewal date, the actual amount we will charge, and how to cancel.
8.4 Emails we send about your plan
- Welcome email when your trial or plan starts. It repeats these automatic-renewal terms, explains how to cancel, and gives our contact details.
- Trial reminder about 7 days before your trial ends.
- Renewal reminder about 30 days (never fewer than 15 days) before each yearly charge, stating the actual amount.
- Cancellation confirmation whenever your plan is cancelled, including when it ends straight away (for example after a full refund or when you close your account).
- Payment problem notice if a charge fails.
- Price change notice under Section 8.7.
These are service emails. You can't turn them off while you have a plan.
8.5 Partner bonus months ("15 months for 12")
If a partner offer gives you extra months, your free trial works as normal. After your first paid year starts, we add the extra months (for example 3) before your next charge. So with "15 months for 12", your second charge comes 15 months after your first. About 30 days (never fewer than 15 days) before that charge, we send you a reminder, just as for any renewal.
8.6 How to cancel
- Online: go to Settings > Cancel or change plan and choose to cancel. This opens our payment processor's secure billing page. You don't need to call or email anyone. Your plan stays active until the end of your current trial or paid period, and you are not charged again.
- By email: write to whatif@easynow.life and say you want to cancel. If you write from a different address, we may ask you to confirm from your account email. Your cancellation takes effect when we receive your email, and we confirm it by email. If you are charged after we received your email, we will refund that charge in full.
- During the trial: if you cancel during the trial, you are never charged.
- Closing your account (Section 12) cancels your plan straight away.
- Deleting the app from your device, or not using WhatIf, does not cancel your plan.
- After your plan ends, the rules in Section 8.11 apply.
8.7 Price changes
We may change the yearly price. If we do, we will email you at least 30 days before the renewal at which the new price would first apply. The renewal reminder will also show the new price. If you don't want to pay it, cancel before that renewal. A price change never affects a period you have already paid for.
8.8 Refunds
- 14-day money-back: if you ask within 14 days after any yearly charge (your first charge or any renewal), we will refund that charge in full. Email whatif@easynow.life. A full refund cancels the plan straight away. Your vault then follows Section 8.11 from the date of the refund, and we confirm the cancellation by email.
- Otherwise, we don't give refunds or credits for partial periods or unused time, except where the law requires it or where these Terms say so (Sections 8.6, 11.2, 11.4, 12.4 and 20.1).
- Refunds go back to the original payment method. Your bank may take several days to show them.
- EU, EEA and UK consumers: you may have a legal right to withdraw from a contract within 14 days of making it. By starting your trial and using the Service right away, you ask us to start providing it immediately. If you withdraw within that period, we refund anything you paid. The 14-day money-back above also applies to you.
8.9 Taxes
We don't add sales tax, VAT or similar taxes to WhatIf charges today. If the law requires us to collect tax where you live, we will show it at checkout before you pay and, for renewals, in your renewal reminder.
8.10 Failed payments
If a charge fails, we email you, and our payment processor tries again over the following days. While it retries, your vault keeps working normally. You can update your card in Settings > Cancel or change plan. If the last retry fails, your plan ends and Section 8.11 applies. We don't charge late fees.
8.11 What happens if payments stop
If your plan ends for any reason (you cancel, payment fails, or a full refund), we do not delete your vault automatically. Instead:
- Read-only for 6 months. For 180 days after the plan ends, everyone in the vault can still sign in and view what is shared with them, and release letters still work. Nobody can add, change or delete items. The owner can still export or print (Section 12.1), and can still close the account.
- Then locked. After that, the vault is locked for everyone, including the owner. Nobody can open it, and release letters don't work, until someone reactivates it. The owner can still stop a pending release.
- Reactivation. The owner, or any member of the vault, can reactivate a read-only or locked vault by paying the full yearly price (no trial, and no partner or client discount). A member who pays to reactivate does not become the owner and gets no extra access. They see only what the owner shared with them. They become the subscriber for that plan, and the rest of this Section 8 applies to them.
- We keep locked vaults until they are deleted under Section 12. If we ever decide to delete vaults that have been locked for a long time, we will first update these Terms and email the owner and the people in the vault at least 90 days before any deletion.
8.12 Payment processing and disputes
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe's own terms also apply to you when you pay. You must give accurate billing information and use a payment method you are allowed to use. If you think a charge is wrong, please contact us first at whatif@easynow.life, and we will try to fix it quickly. If you file a chargeback, we may pause the plan concerned while it is resolved. Section 8.11 still protects your vault from deletion.
9. Partner offers, discount codes, and free accounts
9.1 Partner offers
Some independent partners (such as advisers or professionals) share a WhatIf link or code. A partner offer is either: (a) the usual 30-day free trial, followed by extra months added after your first payment, for example "15 months for the price of 12" (Section 8.5); or (b) a percentage off your first year or every year. The offer you get is the one shown at checkout before you pay. Partner offers apply only to a person's first plan for their own vault, not to reactivations or later plans.
- We honor the offer shown to you at checkout, even if that partner is later paused or leaves the Partner Program.
- The first partner code you use is the one that counts. You can't switch partners later.
- When you use a code, we show you the partner's verified name.
- Partners are independent businesses, not our employees or agents. They can't make promises for us, and we are not responsible for their advice or services.
- Partners never see your vault contents. A partner sees a masked version of your email address, your plan status, your sign-up date, your trial-end and renewal dates, and the fees they earn from your payments (which shows roughly what you paid). A partner earns a fee when you pay (Section 19).
9.2 Client discount codes
We sometimes give our own clients a discount. The code is your own email address, and it works only when you are signed in with that email. It can be used once, only for a first plan, and may have an expiry date. It can't be combined with a partner offer. If you use a client discount, no partner is credited for your account.
9.3 Promotion codes
We may offer other promotion codes. Each has the terms shown with it. Only one offer applies per person. Codes have no cash value, can't be transferred or sold, and may be cancelled if obtained or used against these Terms.
9.4 Free accounts
We may give some people a free (complimentary) account at our discretion. If you are paying when we make your account free, your current paid period is not refunded, but your plan will not renew. We may end a free account. If we do, we will email you, and your vault will stay fully usable for at least 30 days. After that, Section 8.11 applies as if your plan ended then, unless you start a paid plan.
10. Third-party services, crypto values, and estimates
WhatIf relies on, or links to, services run by others. We don't control them, and their own terms and privacy policies apply. They include:
- Stripe, for payments, subscriptions and partner payouts.
- Hosting, database and email providers that run the Service for us, listed in our Privacy Policy.
- Blockchain explorers (Blockscout explorers, mempool.space and nxqscan.com). When you press Scan on a crypto wallet item, your browser usually asks the explorer directly, so the explorer sees your IP address and the wallet address. If an explorer won't answer browsers, WhatIf asks you first. If you agree, our server makes the lookup for you and, at that moment, sees the wallet address, the token and contract, your account and your IP address. We don't store them.
- Price and exchange-rate sources (CoinMarketCap and a currency exchange-rate service). We send them no information about you.
- YouTube. If you add a welcome video, the video is hosted on YouTube under your YouTube account and YouTube's terms. WhatIf only encrypts the link. Anyone who gets the link can watch an "unlisted" video. When someone views it in WhatIf, their browser connects to YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com).
We are responsible for choosing and using these providers with reasonable care. We are not otherwise responsible for their services.
Crypto and currency values are estimates. Balances and prices come from third parties and may be wrong, delayed, incomplete or unavailable. Converted amounts are approximate. Don't rely on them for any financial, tax or legal decision. WhatIf does not hold, move or have access to any crypto or other assets, and does not give investment advice. Whether you store a full seed phrase or only a hint is your choice and your responsibility.
11. Availability, changes, backups, and security
11.1 Availability
We work to keep WhatIf available and reliable, but we can't promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. It may be unavailable for maintenance, updates, problems with our providers, or reasons outside our control. The installed app keeps a copy on your device so you can view your vault offline. That copy may be out of date and is lost if you clear your browser data.
11.2 Changes to the Service
We may add, change or remove features, and change the limits in Section 3.1. If a change significantly reduces the core features you pay for (storing, sharing and releasing your vault), or lowers a limit below what you already use, we will tell you in advance where reasonably possible. If you are on a paid plan and don't accept the change, you may cancel and we will refund the unused part of your current paid period. Lowering a limit will never delete anything you have already stored.
11.3 Beta features
We may label some features "beta" or "preview". They may change, be removed, or not work as expected. Don't rely on them for anything critical.
11.4 If we shut WhatIf down
If we decide to shut down WhatIf entirely, we will give you at least 90 days' notice by email so you can export your vault, and we will refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
11.5 Backups
Our database provider keeps backups for about 30 days, mainly to recover from technical failures. Backups contain encrypted vault data we can't read. We don't restore individual items or vaults on request. Backups are not a substitute for your own export.
11.6 Security and incidents
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the Service, including the encryption described in Section 4. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a security incident that affects your information, including a compromise of the code we deliver to your browser, we will notify you and the authorities when, and as, the law requires. We will also tell you when we reasonably believe it is important for your safety, even if the law does not require it.
12. Closing your account, deletion, and export
12.1 Export first
The owner can download everything in a readable file (Settings > Your data > Download everything), or print an emergency packet, at any time while the vault is active or read-only. Exports and printouts are not encrypted. Keep them safe and destroy them when you no longer need them. We can't make an export for you, because we can't read your vault. If your vault is locked, you must reactivate it to export.
12.2 Closing your account
Anyone can close their account at any time in Settings > Close your account.
- If you are a vault owner: your vault and everything in it are deleted, your plan is cancelled straight away, everyone you added loses access, and every release letter for your vault stops working. If a family member pays for your vault's plan, their plan is cancelled too and we email them. Please tell the people you added, and retrieve or destroy release letters.
- If you were added to someone's vault: you are removed from every vault you belong to, your keys are deleted, any release letter left for you stops working, and any plan you pay for is cancelled straight away.
- Unlock needed. If you have set up vault keys, you must unlock your vault to close your account. This stops someone who only has your inbox from deleting your vault.
- Lost every unlock method? Email whatif@easynow.life. We will confirm that you control the account's email address and then close the account for you.
- Refunds. Closing your account does not refund the rest of a paid period, but the 14-day money-back in Section 8.8 still applies.
- Closing is permanent. We can't undo it or restore your vault.
12.3 What we delete and what we keep
- Your account and vault are deleted from our live database straight away. Copies in our backups are overwritten within about 30 days. Sign-in records are deleted on their normal 90-day schedule.
- If you never started a plan or free trial, and never joined our Partner Program, we erase your account entirely, including your email address.
- If you ever started a plan or free trial (even one you cancelled before any charge), or joined our Partner Program, we keep a minimal billing record for 7 years after your account closes, for tax and accounting and for partner-fee records: your email address, your subscription and payment history (including any trial), and your log of Terms acceptances (including your automatic-renewal consent). Nothing in it reveals your vault.
- We can't delete copies outside our systems, such as exports or printouts, items someone already opened and saved, or the offline copy on another person's device until it next updates. Stripe keeps its own payment records under its own privacy policy.
Our Privacy Policy gives the details.
12.4 Suspension or termination by us
We may suspend or end your access, or remove a member from the Service, if: you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms; the law or a valid legal order requires it; your use creates a risk of harm or legal exposure for others or for us; or you commit fraud or abuse payment, trial, refund or referral systems. Where reasonable and lawful, we will tell you why in advance and give you a chance to fix the problem. Ending a plan for non-payment follows Section 8.11 instead.
If we end an owner's account for a reason other than illegal content or a serious security threat, we will, where lawful, give the owner at least 30 days of read-only access to export first. If we end an account without a reason allowed by these Terms, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid period.
12.5 What continues after your account ends
These parts continue after your account or plan ends, for both of us: Sections 4 (as to losses from lost unlock methods), 6.3, 6.4, 8.6 and 8.8 (refunds we owe you), 11.4, 11.6, 12.3, 12.5, 13 to 18, and 20; Sections 19.6 to 19.14 (for Partner fees earned before the end date and Partner duties that by their nature continue); and any amounts either of us owes the other.
13. Legal requests, and when an owner dies or is incapacitated
13.1 Legal requests
We may disclose information we can read (Section 4) if we believe in good faith that the law, a valid legal process, or an emergency involving risk of death or serious harm requires it. Where the law allows, we will tell you first. We can't hand over readable vault contents, because we can't decrypt them. We can only ever provide them in encrypted form.
13.2 When an owner dies or is incapacitated
- The owner's own arrangements decide what happens: what they shared, who they added, and the release letters they left. Laws on fiduciary access to digital assets in many U.S. states let a user's own choices in an online tool like this one take priority over a will or a fiduciary's request.
- We don't delete a vault, hand it over, change who is in it, or transfer ownership because someone tells us the owner has died or is incapacitated, including an executor, personal representative or family member.
- We act on a valid court order that applies to us. Even then, we can only provide information we can read, and vault contents only in encrypted form.
- Billing: on reasonable proof of death (such as a death certificate), we will stop billing by cancelling the plan's renewal. Any refund follows Section 8.8. After the plan ends, Section 8.11 applies, and any member of the vault can reactivate it.
14. Our software and your feedback
The Service, including its software, design, text, and the WhatIf and easynow.life names and logos, belongs to Synergy Services or its licensors. Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for personal and family use. Some parts are open-source software under their own licenses, which control for those parts. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without paying you or owing you anything. We won't name you publicly as the source without your permission.
15. Disclaimers
We provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. Apart from what we expressly promise in these Terms, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim all other warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement, and any warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or completely secure, or that any person will be able to find, open or use what you store. This Section 15 is subject to Section 16.4.
16. Limitation of liability
16.1 Losses we are not responsible for
We are not liable for loss caused by:
- you, or the people you add, losing unlock methods, recovery codes, release letters, or access to email accounts;
- release letters, exports or printouts being used by someone who obtained them, however they obtained them, other than through our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care;
- your choices about what to store, who to add, and what to share;
- inaccurate or out-of-date content;
- your devices or email accounts being compromised;
- third-party services described in Section 10, except where we failed to use reasonable care in choosing or using them; or
- events outside our reasonable control (Section 20.7).
16.2 Indirect losses
Synergy Services and its members, managers, employees and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost revenue, arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms, even if we were told they were possible.
16.3 Our total liability
Our total liability for all claims arising out of or related to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US$100.
16.4 What these limits never cover
Sections 15 and 16.1 to 16.3 do not limit or exclude our liability for:
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- our gross negligence, willful or intentional misconduct, or intentional violation of law;
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- loss of your data, or the opening of sealed items by someone without the release letter, caused by our breach of Section 11.6 or of these Terms;
- if you live in California: any liability that California Civil Code section 1668 does not allow a contract to exclude, and any remedy you have under California Civil Code section 1798.150 (data breaches);
- if you live in New Jersey: liability for our own negligence, and any remedy under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act;
- if you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland: loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. For you, Sections 16.2 and 16.3 apply only as far as your local law allows;
- if you are a consumer in Thailand: any liability that cannot be limited under Thailand's Unfair Contract Terms Act B.E. 2540 or Consumer Protection Act; and
- if you are a consumer in any other country outside the United States: any liability that cannot be limited under the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
17. Indemnity
If a third party brings a claim against us because you stored or shared information you had no right to store or share, used the Service to break the law or someone else's rights, or seriously broke Section 7, you agree to compensate us for our reasonable losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) from that claim. We will tell you promptly about the claim, let you take part in the defense at your own cost, and not settle it in a way that makes you admit fault without your consent. This section does not apply to the extent the claim was caused by our own breach or negligence. It applies to consumers only as far as the law where you live allows. It does not apply to anyone for conduct while they were under 18.
18. Disputes, arbitration, and governing law
18.1 Talk to us first
Most problems can be solved quickly by email. Before starting a formal claim, each of us agrees to send the other a written notice describing the dispute and what is wanted, and to try in good faith to resolve it for 30 days. Send yours to whatif@easynow.life (and, if you wish, to our mailing address in Section 1.1), with your name, your account email and a description of the claim. We will send ours to your account email. Deadlines for bringing a claim are paused during this 30-day period. This step does not apply to small-claims court cases.
18.2 Binding individual arbitration (United States only)
This Section 18.2 applies if you live in the United States when you accept these Terms or when the dispute arises. Please read it carefully. It affects your rights, including your right to go to court and to a jury trial.
- Agreement to arbitrate. If we can't resolve a dispute informally, you and Synergy Services agree to resolve any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service by binding individual arbitration, not in court, except as stated below. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this Section 18.2. The arbitrator decides questions about the scope and enforceability of this Section 18.2, except that a court decides: whether this agreement to arbitrate was formed; disputes about items 6 and 7; and claims for public injunctive relief.
- Exceptions. Either of us may instead: (a) bring an individual claim in small-claims court, if it qualifies and stays there; or (b) ask a court for an order to stop actual or threatened infringement or misuse of intellectual property, or unauthorized access to the Service. Claims for public injunctive relief, where the law does not allow them to be waived or arbitrated, are decided by a court after any arbitrable individual claims, and are paused until then.
- Rules and fees. The American Arbitration Association ("AAA") administers the arbitration under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect (available at adr.org), as changed by this section. A single arbitrator decides. Fees are paid as the AAA's Consumer Fee Schedule provides, which puts almost all fees on us. If your claim is for $10,000 or less, we will also reimburse your filing fee, unless the arbitrator finds your claim was frivolous or brought for an improper purpose. Each side pays its own lawyers' fees unless the law or the arbitrator awards otherwise.
- Where and how. If your claim is for $25,000 or less, it is decided on written submissions unless you or the arbitrator ask for a hearing. Any in-person hearing will be in the county where you live, unless we both agree otherwise. Hearings may be held by video.
- Arbitrator's power. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could, including any relief available under consumer protection laws, but only for the individual party seeking it and only as far as needed for that party's individual claim.
- Class-action waiver. You and we may bring claims against each other only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not combine more than one person's claims, except as the AAA's rules allow under item 7. If a court finds this waiver unenforceable for a particular claim or type of relief, that claim or relief (and only that) is decided in court, not in arbitration, after the arbitrable claims are decided.
- Mass filings. If 25 or more similar demands for arbitration are filed against us, or by us, by or with the help of the same or coordinated lawyers or organizations, the AAA's Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules and its mass-arbitration fee schedule apply, as the AAA administers them. These Terms add no other batching or delay.
- No shorter time limit. Nothing in these Terms shortens the time the law gives you to bring a claim.
- 30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this Section 18.2 by emailing whatif@easynow.life, or writing to our mailing address, within 30 days after you first accept these Terms. Use the subject "Arbitration opt-out" and include your name and account email. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms, and it also applies to later versions. If you opt out, Section 18.4 governs where disputes are heard.
- Changes. If we change this Section 18.2 in a way that is worse for you, the change does not apply to a dispute we already know about, and you may reject the change by emailing us within 30 days after it takes effect. The previous version then continues to apply to you.
- Severability. If any part of this Section 18.2 is found unenforceable, the rest still applies, except as stated in item 6.
18.3 Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not take away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer laws of the state or country where you live. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
18.4 Courts
For any dispute not decided in arbitration, you and we agree to the jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Laramie County, Wyoming. If you are a consumer, you may instead bring proceedings in the courts where you live, to the extent your local law gives you that right.
18.5 Users outside the United States
If you live outside the United States, Section 18.2 does not apply to you. If you are a consumer, you keep the protections of the mandatory laws of the country where you live (for example in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Thailand), and you may bring a claim in the courts of your home country where your local law allows.
19. Partner Program Terms
19.1 How these terms apply
This Section 19 applies only if you join the WhatIf Partner Program (a "Partner"). When you sign up at /partners/, you tick a box to agree to these Terms, including this Section 19. We log that acceptance with the version, and we ask you to accept again when the version changes. The rest of these Terms also apply to you. If this Section conflicts with the rest of these Terms on a Partner matter, this Section controls. This Section replaces the short partner terms shown at sign-up.
19.2 Eligibility and approval
- You must be 18 or older and able to make a binding contract. Because our payout methods (bank transfer through Stripe Connect, Venmo, Zelle and PayPal) work only in the United States, you need a U.S. taxpayer ID and a U.S. payout account to be paid.
- You can sign up yourself, and your link and code work right away. We review Partners before the first payout and may decline or end any partnership (Section 19.12).
- Give us accurate contact, company and payout details and keep them current. Once we verify your name or company, we show it to people who use your link or code. Codes that suggest you are WhatIf, or an official or support channel, are not allowed.
19.3 Independent contractor
You are an independent contractor. Nothing in these Terms makes you our employee, agent, joint venturer or legal partner, or lets you make promises or sign anything for us. You are responsible for your own expenses, taxes, insurance, and compliance with the laws and professional rules that apply to you. You get no employee benefits.
19.4 What you earn ("Referral Fees")
- Rate. You earn the percentage shown on your partner dashboard of each payment we actually receive from a customer credited to you, while your partnership is active. The fee is calculated on what the customer actually paid, after discounts and excluding any tax we collect. We may change your rate with at least 30 days' notice. A new rate applies only to customer payments received after it takes effect.
- Who is credited. A customer is credited to you if they start their first plan using your link or code. The first partner code a customer uses is the one credited. Credit lasts for that customer's own-vault plan for as long as it continues.
- No fee is earned on: free trials or $0 invoices; your own purchases, or purchases by anyone acting for you; customers who use one of our client discounts; amounts refunded or charged back; payments received while your partnership is paused or after it has ended; or payments obtained through fraud or a breach of this Section 19.
19.5 When and how you are paid
- A Referral Fee becomes payable 30 days after the customer's payment, if the payment has not been refunded or charged back by then.
- Before your first payout, we must approve your account, you must set up a payout method, and you must give us the tax information in Section 19.11. We may hold payable fees until these are done.
- We aim to pay payable fees once a month, in U.S. dollars. You pay any fees your payout provider charges you. We are not responsible for payments sent to payout details you gave us that turn out to be wrong.
19.6 Refunds, chargebacks and corrections
- If a customer's payment is refunded or charged back before the related fee is paid to you, that fee is cancelled (or reduced in proportion, for a partial refund).
- If a refund or chargeback happens after we have paid you the related fee, we won't ask you to repay it, unless the payment involved fraud or your breach of this Section 19.
- We may correct calculation or payment errors, including by adjusting future payouts. If you think a payout is wrong, tell us within 90 days.
19.7 Offers to your customers
Any bonus months or discount promised to a customer at checkout is honored even if your partnership is later paused or ended (Section 9.1). You earn nothing on that customer's payments while you are paused or after you end.
19.8 How you must promote WhatIf
You agree to:
- Disclose your fee. Clearly and conspicuously tell everyone you recommend WhatIf to that you earn a fee if they subscribe, as the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 C.F.R. Part 255) and similar laws require. Put the disclosure next to the recommendation, in plain words, for example: "I earn a referral fee if you subscribe to WhatIf using my link." A disclosure hidden in a footer, a link or an "about" page is not enough. On video or audio, say it out loud.
- Describe WhatIf only as our website does. Only make claims that appear on our website or that we approve in writing. Use our current price and offer.
- Not make prohibited claims. Don't say or suggest that WhatIf: replaces a will, trust or power of attorney, or gives legal, tax or financial advice; is "unhackable", "100% secure" or "guaranteed"; is something no one could ever access "even with a court order"; is insured, or government- or bank-approved; automatically notifies anyone or verifies a death; can recover a lost vault; or that you can see or manage a customer's vault. Don't offer customers any cash, rebate or other incentive we haven't approved.
- Follow anti-spam and calling laws. Comply with the CAN-SPAM Act (accurate sender and subject lines, a valid postal address, a working unsubscribe that you honor within 10 business days), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and its rules (no autodialed or prerecorded calls or texts without prior express written consent, and respect the National Do Not Call Registry), state telemarketing and texting laws, and anti-spam laws everywhere you market (such as Canada's CASL and EU and UK e-privacy laws). Don't use bought or rented lists. Only contact people who agreed to hear from you or with whom you have a relationship the law lets you contact.
- Use our brand properly. Don't present yourself as WhatIf or Synergy Services, register domain names or social accounts that include "WhatIf" or "easynow", or bid on those names in paid search ads, without our written permission. You may use our name and logo only to refer to WhatIf accurately. We may ask you to stop at any time.
- No fraud or manipulation. Don't create fake accounts, use your own code for yourself, use cookie stuffing or misleading redirects, pay or pressure people to sign up, or otherwise manipulate referral credit.
We may review your public promotion of WhatIf. If we ask you to correct or remove something, do so promptly. We may pause your partnership while you do.
19.9 Licensed professionals: read this carefully
If you are a lawyer, insurance agent or broker, financial or investment adviser, broker-dealer representative, accountant, or other licensed or regulated professional, your professional rules may restrict or forbid taking a fee for recommending WhatIf to your clients, or giving them a bonus or discount. You alone are responsible for following those rules. For example:
- Lawyers. State rules of professional conduct based on ABA Model Rules 1.7 (conflicts of interest), 1.8(a) (business transactions with clients), 5.4 (sharing fees with non-lawyers) and 7.2 (payments for recommendations), and state ethics opinions on payments from vendors, may forbid a lawyer from taking ongoing payments when clients buy a product the lawyer recommends, or may require full disclosure and the client's informed written consent, or require the payment to be passed to the client. Holding a client's release letter while earning a fee on that client's plan can add to the conflict.
- Insurance professionals. State anti-rebating and anti-inducement laws may treat giving a client bonus months or a discount as an unlawful rebate or inducement connected with an insurance sale. Some states also restrict referral payments to insurance producers. Never tie a WhatIf offer to buying insurance.
- Investment advisers and brokers. Advisers have a fiduciary duty and must disclose conflicts of interest, including this fee, to clients (for example in Form ADV) and follow advertising rules such as the SEC Marketing Rule. Registered representatives may need their firm's approval for outside business activities (for example under FINRA Rule 3270).
- Accountants. Professional codes and state boards limit commissions and referral fees, especially for clients you provide attest services to, and may require disclosure.
By joining, you confirm that your professional rules, regulator and employer allow you to take part on these terms, and that you will make every disclosure and get every consent they require. If you are not sure, do not take a fee. Ask us about a no-fee arrangement in which your clients receive the offer and you earn nothing. We do not give advice on your professional rules. You may not suggest that we endorse your professional services. You must not use your professional position to access, or offer to manage, a client's vault.
19.10 No access to customer data; confidentiality
- You never get access to any customer's vault or its contents. Your dashboard shows only masked email addresses, plan status, dates and your fees. Don't try to identify customers from that information.
- Keep confidential any non-public information we share with you about WhatIf, our business, other Partners or customers, and use it only for the Partner Program. This duty lasts for 3 years after your partnership ends, and indefinitely for customer information.
- We handle your Partner information under our Privacy Policy.
19.11 Taxes and tax forms
- You are responsible for all taxes on your Referral Fees.
- If you are paid by bank transfer through Stripe Connect, Stripe collects your tax information.
- If you are paid by Venmo, Zelle or PayPal, you must send us a completed IRS Form W-9, which includes your Social Security number or employer ID number, using the secure method we tell you about (not ordinary email). We use it only for tax reporting, protect it as our Privacy Policy describes, and keep it for 7 years after the last payment we make to you.
- We issue Form 1099 or other tax reporting where the law requires. We may withhold tax where the law requires, including backup withholding if you don't give us a valid taxpayer ID.
19.12 Pausing and ending a partnership
- You may end your partnership at any time by emailing whatif@easynow.life. We may pause or end a partnership at any time, for any reason, by notice to you (including on your dashboard).
- While you are paused, your link and code stop working for new customers, and you earn nothing on payments received during the pause. Customers already credited to you stay credited, and you earn again on their later payments if we unpause you.
- Fees already earned are still paid. When a partnership ends, we still pay Referral Fees earned on customer payments received before the end date, once they become payable under Section 19.5 and subject to Section 19.6.
- The only exception is fraud or a violation. If we reasonably decide that you committed fraud, self-referral or spam, made prohibited or misleading claims, failed to disclose your fee, or otherwise seriously broke this Section 19, we may cancel unpaid Referral Fees connected to that conduct and recover fees already paid for it. We will tell you why and consider any response you send within 14 days.
19.13 Changes to the Partner Program
We may change this Section 19, the default rate or customer offers by giving you at least 30 days' notice by email or on your dashboard. Changes never reduce fees on customer payments received before they take effect. If you don't agree, you may end your partnership.
19.14 Partner responsibility
You are responsible for your own marketing and for claims by others arising from your breach of this Section 19 or your violation of law (including the FTC rules, CAN-SPAM, the TCPA and professional rules described above). You will compensate us for our reasonable losses and costs from those claims. Our total liability to you under the Partner Program is limited to the Referral Fees owed to you, subject to Section 16.4.
20. General terms
20.1 Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We show the date and version at the top. For material changes, we will tell you by email and in the app at least 30 days before they take effect, unless a change is needed sooner to comply with law or to address a security risk, in which case we will tell you as soon as reasonably possible. When a new version takes effect, we ask you to tick the box to accept it before you continue using WhatIf. Changes don't apply to disputes that arose before they took effect. If you don't accept, you can still export your vault, cancel your plan and close your account. If a material change is unfavorable to you and you cancel because of it, we will refund the unused part of your current paid period. Price changes follow Section 8.7.
20.2 Electronic communications and notices
You agree that we may give you contracts, notices, disclosures, receipts and other communications electronically, by email to your account email or in the app, and that these meet any legal requirement that they be in writing. You can print or save any of them. You can withdraw this consent only by closing your account. Some emails, such as sign-in links, the billing emails in Section 8.4, release-letter alerts and security notices, are part of the Service and can't be turned off while you have an account. Reminder emails about your items never name the item. Send legal notices to us at whatif@easynow.life, with a copy to our mailing address in Section 1.1 if you wish.
20.3 Entire agreement
These Terms and any terms shown to you at checkout are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. They replace any earlier agreements on the subject, including the short partner terms shown at partner sign-up. Our Privacy Policy is a separate notice and is not part of this agreement (Section 1.4). If anything in an email, web page or dashboard conflicts with these Terms, these Terms control, except that a price or offer shown to you at checkout controls for that purchase.
20.4 Severability
If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, that part is enforced as far as possible (or removed if necessary), and the rest stays in effect, except as stated in Section 18.2.
20.5 Assignment
You may not transfer your account or these Terms to anyone else without our written consent. We may transfer these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, sale of assets or reorganization, or to an affiliate, if the new owner agrees to honor these Terms, including Section 4 and our commitments about your content. We will tell you if that happens.
20.6 No waiver
If we don't enforce a right, we haven't waived it. A waiver must be in writing.
20.7 Events outside our control
Neither of us is responsible for a delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control, such as natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, government action, epidemics, labor disputes, internet or power outages, or failures of third-party providers (including hosting, email and payment providers), except to the extent the failure resulted from our not using reasonable care in choosing or using that provider. This does not excuse paying amounts already due, and it does not change our commitment not to delete your vault automatically under Section 8.11.
20.8 No third-party beneficiaries
These Terms are only for you and us. No one else has rights under them, except that each member has the rights these Terms give them for their own use of the Service.
20.9 Interpretation and language
Headings are for convenience. The summary boxes (the short version at the top and the automatic-renewal box in Section 8) are also part of these Terms. "Including" means "including without limitation". These Terms are written in English. If we provide a translation, the English version controls to the extent the law allows.
